If you are weighing it against other options, the short version is that it is the least expensive plaque we could verify in this category, its hosting promise is generous, and its own website describes the free page three different ways. Those are worth understanding before you order.

What Scan2Remember sells

Scan2Remember lists its QR Memorial Plaque at $49.90 for a single plaque on its product page. Their collection page shows 17 products, all at that same $49.90, including versions themed for a mother, father, grandmother, grandfather, husband, wife, son or daughter, and separate versions for dogs, cats and parrots. That is the widest themed range we have found from any company selling memorial QR plaques.

The plaque measures 50 × 50 mm (2.0 × 2.0 in) according to their product-specifications page. On material, their homepage describes the plaque as anodized aluminum and weatherproof. The specifications page itself does not name a metal. It gives dimensions and describes the material as weatherproof, UV-resistant and built for permanent outdoor placement. We mention that only so you know which page each description comes from.

Their shipping and returns terms are unusually generous for a small product. The return policy states free delivery in 8 to 13 business days, a full 7-day money-back guarantee on all QR Memorial products, and free return shipping labels for all returns. Very few companies in this category pay for the return leg.

They also publish a large library of grief-support articles. That is real editorial work, written for people who are not necessarily buying anything, and it deserves credit.

Price and hosting model, side by side

Sticker price is the easy part. The harder question is what you pay over the years, and what each company has committed to in writing. Here is what each one states on its own site.

Two notes on that table. Scan2Remember sells the plaque in multiples as well as singly, and their why-us page publishes the bundle prices: $49.90 for one, $89.90 for a two-pack and $127.99 for a three-pack. And Keeper publishes its plaque as QR Plaques — From $59 USD on its shop page rather than on its pricing page, which lists only the one-time software tiers.

What the free hosting covers

This is the part worth reading slowly, because Scan2Remember's site describes its free page in three different ways.

On the homepage, they write: Creating a Scan2Remember digital memorial is free — not a trial. You can add unlimited photos, stories, and videos, and the page is yours to keep with lifetime hosting. That appears on scan2remember.com, alongside the phrase Always free. Always yours. On their why-us page they add: Lifetime hosting is included with every plaque. You'll never receive an email asking you to renew a subscription to keep your loved one's memorial online.

On the product page FAQ, they write something narrower: Your free page includes up to 10 photos, 3 videos, unlimited tributes, a virtual candle, grave GPS navigation, and reminders. You can upgrade any time for unlimited media and extra features, but you never have to.

There is a third description, and it is the narrowest of the lot. Their digital memorial pricing page puts the free tier at 1 memorial page, up to 5 photos, text biography, with videos & music marked as not included at all.

All three descriptions are theirs, and all three are on their live site: unlimited on the homepage, ten photos and three videos on the product FAQ, five photos and no video on the pricing page. We are not going to tell you which one governs, because we do not know, and it would not be fair to guess.

What we can tell you is what it costs to stop worrying about the limit, because that part they do publish — just not on the product page where the limit is mentioned. The same pricing page lists Plus at $9.90 a month, or $6.90 a month if you pay $82.80 for a year up front, and that tier is the one that says unlimited photos & videos. Above it sits Pro at $19.90 a month, or $13.90 a month billed $166.80 a year, which adds a family tree builder, a custom domain and 4K video export.

Worth noting plainly: those are recurring charges, and they sit beside the promise that you will never receive an email asking you to renew a subscription. Both can be true at once — the plaque's hosting is what is free forever, and the media limits are what you pay monthly to lift — but it is not the impression the homepage leaves.

If you expect to post more than a handful of photographs, and most families do once relatives start sending them, this is the single question to settle before you order: which description of the free page applies to yours. Email them, ask in writing, and keep the reply. A company that answers that clearly has told you most of what you need to know.

Features compared

Feature lists are the least reliable part of any comparison, because every company chooses its own words. The left column below is what Scan2Remember lists on its own pages. The right column is what we offer.

The plaque itself

Both plaques are the same size, two inches square, which is the practical maximum for a headstone before it starts to look like signage. Both are described as anodized aluminum, though as noted, Scan2Remember's specification page does not name the metal and the description comes from their homepage.

The Lumestone plaque is engraved anodized metal with a champagne-brass rim, and it ships with industrial 3M adhesive already applied and the QR code already linked to the memorial page. It deliberately carries no name. The stone carries the name; the plaque carries the story. That is an aesthetic judgment rather than a technical advantage, and reasonable people disagree about it.

On durability, what matters more than the brand is the finish. Anodized and engraved metal holds up outdoors far better than a printed sticker or a laminated card, and that is the real dividing line in this market rather than the gap between one metal plaque and another.
